Thank YOU for your great support, superior endurance and commitment to the environment and nature of Jones River. The $125,000 appropriation for the Jones River Restoration Fund passed with flying colors, soaring like the Great Blue Heron! Alex Mansfield did an outstanding job presenting and YOU did an outstanding job being there, speaking out, and voting to move this project forward.

We’re very excited and deeply committed to the next steps of helping our reps secure the release of the state bond funding. We should hear about the NOAA grant in July, so keep those fingers crossed and stay tuned. It is critical that the community provides input on designs and plans as the project moves forward. This is an opportunity to create something truly special in terms of recreation, aesthetics, historical recognition, and healthy ecosystems.

We have been fortunate to have unwavering support from others in Kingston, including especially Maureen Thomas, the Town’s (former) conservation agent. Maureen just started her new position in the town of Truro, and we want to wish her luck and thank her for her decade of service to Kingston. Please join us in celebrating her accomplishments at a potluck party on Thursday, June 30th at the Landing, from 6:00 PM on… we have lots to celebrate!!! The tide will be high, so it’ll be a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the river while we celebrate Maureen and our success at Town Meeting.
