This Wednesday saw the Elm Street dam removal project cross another major hurdle. Bidding on the construction work closed with three of the four contractors putting in bids that were within a reasonable margin of the estimate of $900,000.
The engineers over at Stantec are currently reviewing the submissions for potential problems before anything is finalized. More details will follow soon.
JRWA is continuing its pursuit of grant funding for the project, but the bid submissions being so closely aligned with the estimated cost has given us an attainable target to hit.
Once again, we would like to thank our dedicated members who have shown that there is a large community interest in dam removal projects like this. We are fast approaching a major goal for this organization and it wouldn’t be possible without your help.
