11/07/15 Update: See pictures from the Open House (Kingston Reporter) >>
Thirty years ago, an eclectic group of local residents gathered on Landing Road, on a house on the hill. The small group was determined to start the “Jones River/Silver Lake Watershed Association” after years of hesitation. A few months later, on January 5, 1986, By-Laws were adopted by the first general meeting. Those By-Laws, with only a few changes over time, still govern the organization today.
In honor of its three decades of effort to study, learn, protect, defend and restore the Jones River and its important watershed habitats, JRWA invites you, one and all, to an Open House on Sunday, November 1st, 1-4 PM.
Please join us for conversations about the past, present and future of this environmental effort to provide stewardship of our essential natural resources and rich cultural maritime history. We will offer hot food and beverage and a walk about to see what we are up to and what we are thinking for the years ahead.
