Massachusetts Boater Safety Certification Course (Day 2)
Our course will be taught by the Coast Guard Auxiliary and will end with a certification exam given on the second night of the training. There will be a $20 fee assessed at the door on the first night of the training. Seats are limited with only eight spots still available. Massachusetts Boater Safety Certification Course (Day 1)
Jones River Landing will also be hosting a two night boater safety certification course towards the end of May. A course of this nature will be required for anyone wishing to operate a motorized boat in the state with the deadline for completion being April 1, 2026 for those born after 1989 or April 1, 2028 for those born before 1989.
Nautical Yard Sale
Members of the Mass Bay Maritime Artisans and others will be holding a yard sale in the Landing parking lot this coming Saturday focused primarily on nautical equipment and other related items. Shipbuilding and sailing are cornerstones of our regional history, and Jones River Landing is proud of our part in it. Please stop by and see what’s available if you’re in the area.
Earth Day Cleanup
Saturday April 19th the Jones River Watershed Association will be facilitating a town wide clean up in celebration of Earth Day. We are encouraging people to clean up their favorite spots around town. Anyone who brings a filled contractor bag to Jones River Landing will be given a free year’s membership to the Jones River Watershed Association.

You do not need to attend an in-person herring count training to count herring! Please review our herring count training slideshow if you are interested in participating.

Come learn how to protect yourself and your family while maintaining a safe environment. Registration is appreciated. Seating is first come, first serve. Doors open at 6:30pm.

Annual Jones River Herring Count
The count has begun! You can help monitor the amazing migration of river herring as they swim upstream to spawn by volunteering for JRWA’s annual herring count, running from April 1st through May 31st.
